Closet Edit
A better wardrobe begins with clarity.
The strategic wardrobe evaluation traditionally known as Closet Cleaning: what stays, changes, moves forward or leaves.
More Than Cleaning a Wardrobe
Closet Edit is not simply about removing clothes. Often known as a “closet cleaning”, it is a more strategic and complete approach to wardrobe evaluation.
It is a complete review according to personal style, body proportions, colouring, lifestyle, professional needs, current objectives, garment quality, functionality and the image you want to communicate.
The objective is not to create an empty closet. It is to create a wardrobe that makes sense.
My Approach — Analysis Before Elimination
I do not believe in discarding clothes simply because they are old, unfashionable or outside a traditional list of essentials. A piece may deserve its place because it represents your identity, fits your lifestyle, creates valuable combinations, has emotional or material value, can be altered, can be styled differently or serves a specific function.
In the same way, a beautiful or expensive piece may no longer make sense if it does not fit, is never worn or no longer communicates the image you want. Every decision is intentional.
What We Evaluate
- Fit
- Proportion
- Silhouette
- Colour
- Style identity
- Comfort
- Fabric
- Construction
- Condition
- Versatility
- Lifestyle relevance
- Coordination potential
- Maintenance
- Frequency of use
- Emotional attachment
The Four Possible Decisions
- KEEP — The piece works well, represents you and contributes to your wardrobe.
- ALTER — The item has potential but requires tailoring, repair, updating or another technical adjustment.
- REPOSITION — The piece may work differently through new styling, layering, accessories or a change of context.
- RELEASE — The item no longer fits your body, lifestyle, identity or objectives and may be donated, sold, recycled or discarded responsibly.
What Stays — and Why
Keeping a piece should be as intentional as removing it. We identify garments that fit properly, express your style, work with your colouring, support your routine, create useful combinations and deserve space in your wardrobe.
What Leaves — and Why
Pieces may be released when they no longer fit, are damaged beyond repair, do not reflect your current identity, create discomfort, are difficult to combine, duplicate other items without purpose or remain unused for reasons unlikely to change.
Alterations and Repairs
- Changing length
- Refining the waist
- Adjusting shoulders
- Replacing buttons
- Repairing linings
- Modifying sleeves
- Updating details
- Restoring leather or footwear

Wardrobe Gaps
Once the wardrobe has been evaluated, genuine gaps become visible. They may include wardrobe foundations, layering pieces, footwear, accessories, workwear, occasionwear, seasonal items, travel essentials or connector pieces.
Wardrobe Organisation
- Garment categories
- Colour organisation
- Visibility
- Folding and hanging
- Accessory storage
- Seasonal rotation
- Garment care
- A system that is easy to maintain
The objective is not only visual organisation. It is to make the wardrobe easier to use.
Closet Edit Is Not Outfit Styling
Closet Edit focuses on evaluating the wardrobe: what stays, what leaves, what requires alteration, what is missing and how the wardrobe can function more effectively.
Outfit Styling focuses on creating and documenting complete outfits using the pieces that remain.
Closet Edit creates clarity. Outfit Styling turns that clarity into looks.
